Gratitude for Sweet, Sweet, Life

We’re starting back to HOMEschool today, and one of our annual traditions has been to have a really fun, out of the ordinary breakfast, on the first day. For a couple years we had cake and ice cream for breakfast. Last year we went out to eat and had muffins and smoothies… not really out of the ordinary as far as breakfast foods go, but also not a typical school day breakfast for us. Most mornings my kids help themselves to oatmeal, yogurt, or cereal and milk. I typically have oatmeal and a cup of coffee with milk and sugar.
This year, my kids are requesting soft serve frozen yogurt and toppings at our favorite local self serve frozen yogurt shop. The only problem is, I have no idea what time the frozen yogurt place opens. I have a hunch, they might not be open for breakfast. The plan is to head to frozen yogurt first, and if they’re closed, then we’ll go for smoothies and muffins again.
The main point is to make the first day of school memorable and fun, and something my kids really look forward to.
I have so many things to be thankful for lately, my gratitude is spilling over, and it continues here…
