Happy Homemaker Monday
I love this post idea and Link Up from Diary of a Stay at Home Mom!
The weather in my neck of the woods:
Currently at 9:30 a.m. here in Southern California, it is 68 degrees and partly cloudy. A high expected today of 85 degrees and a low tonight of 60 degrees.
Things that make me happy:
Jesus, my husband, my kids, Coffee, books, and inspiration
Book I’m reading:
I’m always reading multiple books at any given time: Currently, “The Overton Window”, “The Christian Atheist” and “The Underground History of American Education”
What I’m enjoying on TV:
I watch a lot of Fox News and in the evenings I am partial to mindless reality shows
On the menu for dinner:
Turkey Burgers
On my To Do List:
I have mountains of laundry to tackle and seeds to get into my garden… I know, I know… It’s so NOT spring anymore… I’m behind, but still determined!
New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
I’d like to try a Coconut Cream Cake
In the craft basket: My journal, new colored pencils, a glue stick, and the Spring Issue of Life:Beautiful
Looking forward to this week:
Gardening with my kids, a trip to the San Diego Zoo with family, and simple summer days
Tips and Tricks:
When your kids get the hiccups… even babies 6 months or older… squirt their mouth full of whipped cream. They love it! And… the hiccups disappear instantly… it’s amazing! And it has helped me stay on schedule with nap times and bed times for many years.
My favorite blog post this week:
Well… the week has just begun, but I was certainly impressed this morning with Confessions of a Cookbook Queen and her amazing Spongebob Cake… plus she cracks me up!
Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):
I love Our Homeschool Home’s Mingle Monday link up!
No words needed (favorite photo or picture, yours or others you want to share):

My favorite piece from a Sidewalk Chalk Festival I visited yesterday
Lesson learned the past few days:
Gardening… when you’re severely challenged at it like I am… makes you so much more genuinely grateful to the Lord for your food. My meal time prayers of thanks have never been so sincere as I have truly acknowledged what a miracle it is when someone can get a seed to grow something edible… I’ve yet to do so myself… but I have hope for my future!
On my mind:
Getting off the computer and onto my day with kids, laundry, and whatever else comes my way
Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
Isaiah 55 – the whole chapter is amazing, but imparticular…
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
and your ways are not My ways.”
This is the LORD’s declaration.
9 “For as heaven is higher than earth,
so My ways are higher than your ways,
and My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For just as rain and snow fall from heaven,
and do not return there
without saturating the earth,
and making it germinate and sprout,
and providing seed to sow
and food to eat,
11 so My word that comes from My mouth
will not return to Me empty,
but it will accomplish what I please,
and will prosper in what I send it to do.”
Be blessed today friends! Thanks for visiting.
