The Spice Merchants GIVEAWAY

An hour north of San Diego, California, surrounded by mountain ranges in a quaint little valley, is the pituresque shopping and dining delight of Old Town Temecula.
I first started visiting Old Town Temecula as a very young girl. Twice a month my parents would take my brother and I to visit our grandparents in Ontario, California. One of my favorite things about making the trip from San Diego was stopping in Old Town Temecula on our way and getting an ice cream cone from the Corner Deli. That particular shop closed down years ago, but Old Town Temecula has continued to grow and develop into a popular Southern California destination.

Old Town is a wonderful place to visit for unique shopping, fine dining, and a quaint small town atmosphere reminiscent of the Old West. Some of the fabulous vendors include: The Temecula Olive Oil Company, the Rancho Fruit Market, The Farmer’s Wife Gifts, Cafe Bravo Coffee House, The Gambling Cowboy’s Chophouse and Saloon, the Dog House Hot Dogs, Sweet Lumpy’s Western BBQ, Saturday morning Farmer’s Market made up of locally grown produce and products, several antique stores, the Temecula Cheese Company, Cactus Flower Apparel, Rosa’s Cantina Mexican Food, The Rootbeer shop, Palumbo’s Italian Bistro, the Swing Inn Cafe, The Edge Fine Dining Restaurant, and among many, many more vendors, one of my personal favorites… the Spice Merchants.

This is one of my favorite places to shop. Every time I visit I always find something new and amazing!

At the Spice Merchant you have a chance to experience a sensory journey through the spices of the world!

Over 350 fresh, high quality spices, herbs, and blends.

A variety of rices from around the world.

Here is a perfect example of the inspiring ingredients you’ll find that you never even knew existed.
At least, I never knew green bamboo rice existed.

Unique gifts including unusual utensils, spice racks, grinders, mortar and pestles.

A variety of honey.
I bet you never thought about Honeys having different flavors based on the different flowers bees who make them, retrieve pollen from.
Orange Blossom Honey, Clover Honey, Mountain Sage Honey, and by golly out here in good ol’ California we even have Avocado Blossom Honey.
Who knew?
Not me… that’s who… er… not knew…. I mean….
Never mind!

A wonderful assortment of loose-leaf teas and accessories.
And beautiful gift boxes for all occasions.
And speaking of gift boxes…

The generous Spice Merchants are offering this great gift box, to one of YOU!
Let’s see what’s inside shall we?

Oooooooh! Aaaaaaaah!
Want to see more?

I knew you would.
Now let’s take an even closer look.

This is a bottle of Tahitian Vanilla extract. I used some (not out of this bottle… I have my own Baker’s Gift Box) in my Christmas sugar cookies, and it was wonderful. You might think Vanilla is Vanilla is Vanilla, but you are mistaken. This Vanilla tastes and smells wonderful. It makes you sit up and take notice.
Yum, yum, yummy!

You also get a bottle of Dutched Cocoa and Allspice. I’ve been experimenting with these two in a recipe for New Year’s. I can’t give you the details now, but it’s gonna be GOOD.

This is Vietnamese Cinnamon. It’s much stronger than most… perhaps all… cinnamons you’ve dealt with before. This bottle will last you quite a while and the taste and smell is wonderful.

And last, but CERTAINLY not least is this magical stuff.
Cinnamon Sugar.
It’s pure cane sugar in a raw crystal form that has been infused with cinnamon flavor. Just imagine this sprinkled on whipped creme in your coffee, gracing the surfaces of Snicker-doodle cookies, or beautifying the top of an apple pie, crumble, or crisp.

Flavored sugars are one of the most inspiring things I’ve seen at the Spice Merchants.
Cinnamon Sugar, Lemon Sugar, Lime Sugar…

Raspberry Sugar – recommended for sprinkling on cookies, cupcakes, and cakes. Also can be used to coat the rim of a glass of lemonade or other beverage. Try mixing some into a green salad with Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar Dressing.
Hello! Are those awesome ideas?
And check out this one…

Sweet Onion Cane Sugar – I knew I had to have this the moment I laid eyes on it. I love savory with sweet dishes and this one opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. Some of it’s suggested uses are to sprinkle it on buttered popcorn, cooked asparagus, or grilled prawns.
Now these last two lovely sugars – raspberry and onion – are not part of the giveaway. But… don’t worry your pretty little head.
Anything mentioned in this post that has caught your attention can still be yours.

I am almost done my Christmas shopping. Just one more gift to get. Wrapping has yet to be completed though.
I am almost Finished with my shopping!!! All I had to do is my parents gifts! and I did it all in one day!!
I am a almost done shopping, but I haven’t even started baking. I am saving that for next week.
Wow, I would love to win this!!!!!!
We’re making most of our gifts this year and we’re definitely feeling a little pressured for time
I’m sure we’ll be wrapping on Christmas Eve.
My wife and I would love this. She’s busy sewing a lot of gifts for Christmas. This weekend we’ll start our holiday gift baking.
Presents are wrapped for my grandsons… what fun! Now, on to the adults.
I must go see this wonderful store because I’m only 40 mins. away. My apron gift giving will go great with spices… thanks!
I just finished this weekend. Now for the wrapping part…probably won’t be done for another week!
I have almost all my shopping done~I just need to pick up a few odds and ends. And I am proud to say that almost all of it is wrapped
Wow! That is a beautiful shop! I haven’t really done much Christmas shopping this year. We are on a tight budget and I’m keeping a lot of gifts to homemade items
The shopping is mostly done. A few odds and ends here and there. And one 16 year old brother who is impossible to buy for. But absolutely nothing is wrapped. My husband and I usually go on a mad wrapping spree the night before and with his schedule its a good time for us to be able to spend together and be able to talk.
We are (thankfully) done with our shopping AND wrapping. This year both sides of our family decided to less spendy and more thoughtful, so there was less to wrap…but in any event we are done and it feels great.
What an intriguing and generous giveaway! Sadly, I have nothing wrapped and still have to purchase a few more things to be done with my shopping. My tree looks great though
Thanks for the chance to win.
The only person I have left to buy for is my hubby
I have barely scratched the surface on my christmas gift giving… my mom and I are set to bake 14 different kinds of cookies to give to close family and friends, but the other gifts are still nicely placed on the store’s shelves waiting to be purchased…the husband is in charge of my dad and brother, and I am thinking of placing a donation in my mother’s name in rememberance of my nana for her christmas….hopefully i can get all the rest of the shopping done!!!
I got all my christmas cards mailed early this yr.Yeah! I haven’t did much shopping though, but this yr I will give out 2 gift certficates. Maybe to Bath and Body works for my sisters. Then I will only have 3 more gifts to buy. yeah! I have alot of fudge to make too! great giveaway!
I have all of our gifts (homemade!), now I just need to wrap.
We’ve done almost all our shopping online. I think the only thing we haven’t finished (and that I need to ship, ack) is my homemade gift. I personalize calendars for the whole family and procrastinate every year. (At least I’m consistent)
Thanks for the chance to win this fun prize!
Kids are done, my family is done. Inlaws are done since they are Jewish our celebration was Sat. so that makes things easier and it is one less place to stop and worry about
Husband said he doesn’t want anything, but last time he said that I discovered he did not mean that. So I will need to shop for him.
Just a couple more gifts to buy and then I’m done
Sigh. Every year I tell myself I’m gonna be done before Christmas Eve and every year I’m still wrapping ON Christmas Eve.
Do the Spice Merchants have a website with prices? I’m intrigued by raspberry sugar. Ohhhhhhhhhand I think I’m in love with the idea of vietnamese sugar and tahitian vanilla extract. Maybe after the holidays when my food budget goes back to normal- I could afford an item or two.

I’m all done with my shopping. Yay! It’s all wrapped up and under the tree. Truth be told, we didn’t buy a whole lot this year. My children are still young and don’t have outrageous expectations of multiple gifts so we have just 3-4 gifts for each child and one for mom and dad from the children. It should be short and sweet and hopefully memorable.
Thanks for the chance to win. What a great place full of all sorts of culinary treasures!!
I think most everything is bought, but most certainly is not wrapped. I love to see all the fancy wrapping, but I just can’t get motivated to get it done too far before Christmas. Also, I never know when I’ll find a “better” present for someone and have to take the other back.
barely made a dent , idont think well be buying all that much this year anyways ,but i gota get a move on it
I have 1 present left to buy! My husband is so type A, he did most of the shopping and has everything wrapped
I am almost done with my shopping and I have everything wrapped so far. I can’t wait to finish it all.
I am all done, now they just need to get here! (I’ve ordered everything on line!)
I have barely made a dent in my shopping and i haven’t even started my wrapping.
I would love to win this:) My shopping is almost done. Just need a couple last minute gifts. I am only having a small get-together this year so not much to do:)
I am actually ahead of the game this year which is actually pretty rare! But I just finished the last of wrapping of the presents I have gotten so far. Ther are just a few last minute things I need to get so I am pretty proud of myself!
Christmas Shopping? Wrapping? Ha! I haven’t even started! I’m a brave soul to wait so long…

I haven’t started…shopping that is. Though I’ve made a few gifts and am contemplating making them all. So maybe I won’t be shopping at all!
Okay, I have to confess. I haven’t made or purchased one single gift for Christmas. I am always a fly by the seat of my pants type of girl. One year, I told myself I would be done shopping at least 2 weeks ahead of Christmas. Well, I lived up to my word but then had to sit and wait. Patients in not a virtue of mine. So now I wait till the very last second and then I get my game face on. It’s just how I do things, it’s just who I am. Why fight it, right?
That gift box looks absolutely heavenly.
I love this store, too! There is so much to see. I love cooking and baking and I do agree about the vanilla, I’ve been using it for all my Christmas baking. Now you’ve talked me into the cinnamon sugar for my snickerdoodles and the raspberry one for my sugar cookies. I start baking and freezing every year right after Thanksgiving. I love to share what I make with others.
I’m still working on Christmas gifts, have to wait for my check before I can finish. Merry Christmas!
I still have several more gifts to get. But hey, we still have about two weeks!
I still have more to do – wish I was done!
We have had presents for a few months and stacking them. We have to wrap them and see who is left to buy. I had a list but haven’t kept it up to date. The basket looks wonderful.
Hi! We are Jewish and are right in the middle of Chanukah, and I am still behind in gifts, shopping, wrapping, even cards. Yikes! Seems like December rolls around faster & faster every year:-)
I love your post about Spice Merchants. We live in Temecula and this store is definitely a wonderful addition to our ever-growing Old Town.
What a lovely gift! I am almost completely done…I have a few random gifts to get but did almost all my shopping online so it’s been pretty easy.
I have not even started yet! Yikes! But I’m hoping that changes this weekend
wrapping?! what about the shopping?! ack!
I still have a lot to buy and only 1 gift wrapped. I’m so far behind this year! Yikes!
I was so proud of myself because I actually started way early this year and had great plans to be completely done shopping and wrapping by tomorrow!!! Well, not so much!! We have lots of family coming on Thursday and Christmas performances from Thursday until Christmas Eve, so this year I kinda wish Santa was real so he could finish everything for me! But, Jesus is the Reason for the Season!!! And everything will get done, it always does!
I’ve been having trouble finding good quality spices where I live. This would be AWESOME! And totally yummy…
Honestly, I have barely started shopping and what little I have done has yet to be wrapped
Well, I have been done for quite some time, although I keep finding the most fantasctic deals via my blogs and have been unable to pass them up! I keep saying I’m done, but I find just 1 more thing. LOL I am just about done wrapping as of this past wknd.
I am always behind- so Christmas is no different. I love good (and new!) spices. Thanks for the giveaway!
All done except for the old people

I am about half way done with my Christmas shopping. We got married in September and most people are getting pictures from the wedding. I have all the cards done, addressed and stamped. Now I just have to get out and print the pictures and find something for my husband.
I am almost done…only 2 more small gifts to buy!
I got a gift I ordered online delivered by FedEx today, so I need to wrap that, but everything else I have is wrapped and under the tree. Still waiting for a shipment from Amazon to come in the mail so I can get those wrapped too!
Thanks for the giveaway…this prize looks AWESOME!
I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping – just a few small things left to pick up!
