The Spice Merchants GIVEAWAY

An hour north of San Diego, California, surrounded by mountain ranges in a quaint little valley, is the pituresque shopping and dining delight of Old Town Temecula.
I first started visiting Old Town Temecula as a very young girl. Twice a month my parents would take my brother and I to visit our grandparents in Ontario, California. One of my favorite things about making the trip from San Diego was stopping in Old Town Temecula on our way and getting an ice cream cone from the Corner Deli. That particular shop closed down years ago, but Old Town Temecula has continued to grow and develop into a popular Southern California destination.

Old Town is a wonderful place to visit for unique shopping, fine dining, and a quaint small town atmosphere reminiscent of the Old West. Some of the fabulous vendors include: The Temecula Olive Oil Company, the Rancho Fruit Market, The Farmer’s Wife Gifts, Cafe Bravo Coffee House, The Gambling Cowboy’s Chophouse and Saloon, the Dog House Hot Dogs, Sweet Lumpy’s Western BBQ, Saturday morning Farmer’s Market made up of locally grown produce and products, several antique stores, the Temecula Cheese Company, Cactus Flower Apparel, Rosa’s Cantina Mexican Food, The Rootbeer shop, Palumbo’s Italian Bistro, the Swing Inn Cafe, The Edge Fine Dining Restaurant, and among many, many more vendors, one of my personal favorites… the Spice Merchants.

This is one of my favorite places to shop. Every time I visit I always find something new and amazing!

At the Spice Merchant you have a chance to experience a sensory journey through the spices of the world!

Over 350 fresh, high quality spices, herbs, and blends.

A variety of rices from around the world.

Here is a perfect example of the inspiring ingredients you’ll find that you never even knew existed.
At least, I never knew green bamboo rice existed.

Unique gifts including unusual utensils, spice racks, grinders, mortar and pestles.

A variety of honey.
I bet you never thought about Honeys having different flavors based on the different flowers bees who make them, retrieve pollen from.
Orange Blossom Honey, Clover Honey, Mountain Sage Honey, and by golly out here in good ol’ California we even have Avocado Blossom Honey.
Who knew?
Not me… that’s who… er… not knew…. I mean….
Never mind!

A wonderful assortment of loose-leaf teas and accessories.
And beautiful gift boxes for all occasions.
And speaking of gift boxes…

The generous Spice Merchants are offering this great gift box, to one of YOU!
Let’s see what’s inside shall we?

Oooooooh! Aaaaaaaah!
Want to see more?

I knew you would.
Now let’s take an even closer look.

This is a bottle of Tahitian Vanilla extract. I used some (not out of this bottle… I have my own Baker’s Gift Box) in my Christmas sugar cookies, and it was wonderful. You might think Vanilla is Vanilla is Vanilla, but you are mistaken. This Vanilla tastes and smells wonderful. It makes you sit up and take notice.
Yum, yum, yummy!

You also get a bottle of Dutched Cocoa and Allspice. I’ve been experimenting with these two in a recipe for New Year’s. I can’t give you the details now, but it’s gonna be GOOD.

This is Vietnamese Cinnamon. It’s much stronger than most… perhaps all… cinnamons you’ve dealt with before. This bottle will last you quite a while and the taste and smell is wonderful.

And last, but CERTAINLY not least is this magical stuff.
Cinnamon Sugar.
It’s pure cane sugar in a raw crystal form that has been infused with cinnamon flavor. Just imagine this sprinkled on whipped creme in your coffee, gracing the surfaces of Snicker-doodle cookies, or beautifying the top of an apple pie, crumble, or crisp.

Flavored sugars are one of the most inspiring things I’ve seen at the Spice Merchants.
Cinnamon Sugar, Lemon Sugar, Lime Sugar…

Raspberry Sugar – recommended for sprinkling on cookies, cupcakes, and cakes. Also can be used to coat the rim of a glass of lemonade or other beverage. Try mixing some into a green salad with Raspberry Balsamic Vinegar Dressing.
Hello! Are those awesome ideas?
And check out this one…

Sweet Onion Cane Sugar – I knew I had to have this the moment I laid eyes on it. I love savory with sweet dishes and this one opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. Some of it’s suggested uses are to sprinkle it on buttered popcorn, cooked asparagus, or grilled prawns.
Now these last two lovely sugars – raspberry and onion – are not part of the giveaway. But… don’t worry your pretty little head.
Anything mentioned in this post that has caught your attention can still be yours.

I still have to get on the ball with the gifts that I’m making. I’m creating spa type of gifts for the women of the family. All the wonderful ways to relax and unwind in one little package! I’ve got all the items, I just need to start assembling!

I have about half of my shopping done. I’m begining to get nervous about getting it done! LoL Winning this would help cross one gift off my list, LoL. Thanks! =-)
I have one present left to buy and a few salt dough frames left to bake and a shower curtain to draw a train town on. Then I’ll be done
I need to do some more shopping, but a couple of hours worth should set me to rights. One of my craft projects didn’t exactly turn out as expected… I still have a couple more things to ship, and need to do more baking.
Would love to win this
I’m just watching the frenzy around me!
The shopping is done…oh wait! I just accepted to do another family member’s shopping for my kids! The wrappig is getting stared tonight…but that’s what I’ve been saying to myself & hubby for the past 5 days. In the meantime…time is being spent baking, blogging and tending to my girl’s craziness.
My christmas shopping has been an ease so far! I still need a few more items for stockings, but I’ve managed to be totally thrifty this year! I even started saving money on wrapping by hand making my own bows!
Well I was like you until this AM and I actually bought 2 gifts so I am started, but no where near done, I sure wish we had a place like this near here, I love fresh spices and exotic seasonings. I am gonna have to order stuff!
I was done with all my shopping in November! All presents are wrapped and under the tree and my 6 month old keeps getting into them!
I’d like to think I’m finished, but alas work keeps getting in the way. Hopefully I’ll have nearly everything purchased by the 21st. Knowing my husband, he won’t be buying anything until Christmas Eve. I’ll have to make his job easier and suggest the wonderful items available at The Spice Merchants!
I’m anal and I’m totally finished. Just sitting back and relaxing now. Although at my party on Thursday with the girls at my house, I need allspice for my hot spiced cider and didn’t have any. And this gift basket has some. Cool. And I just saw a recipe that called for sweet onion sugar and wondered what it was. now I know.

I haven’t even started!
i havent even started either.
Completely done and wrapped!! I am on the ball!
I am done with all the gift shopping, but I don’t have a thing wrapped. We also don’t have our tree up yet! I am so not on the ball as far as decorating goes.
My family may have to forego christmas shopping for this year as our finances are too shaky, with the threat of foreclosure over our heads at all times. I love shopping for christmas last minute, it makes it so exciting to me, so I am praying for a miracle and not yet upset about no shopping to have occurred yet! Today is our 7th wedding anniversary and only one card was exchanged, you can’t spend what you don’t have!
I am totally done! We went on vacation last week so I had to be all ready before we left so I am super relaxed about Christmas now.
I still have two gift cards to buy!
I’ve started, but stumped. The spouse says he doesn’t want anything. Really? Hm. Then there are presents for the in-laws….
I’m almost done with mine, just a few gifts left.
Merry Christmas and thanks for the giveaway!
I love the Spice Merchant! My hubby bought me some loose leaf Chocolate tea from the SM as a gift…one of my favorite gifts so far!!!!
this is an amazing giveaway!
my christmas shopping is done, half the wrapping is done, i’m in the final stretch.
Feeling rushed! Finding the right present is so important!!
As of today, we are done with the shopping!. On to the wrapping.
I have most of my gifts bought already, but not all. This year I used a lot of Swagbucks to buy Amazon gift cards, which I then used on gifts! So great! I think I had about $50 in that. I would have had more, but I got a late start. Still VERY helpful!
I’m done with all my Christmas shopping, but I still have to crochet a few gifts…a hat for my nephew and a cupcake for a friend!
I am 99% done with my Christmas gifts.
I am almost done with my shopping, but have not started any wrapping yet….need to find the time.
My Christmas shopping is halfway done and I haven’t started any gift wrapping yet. I usually save that for Christmas Eve.
I got all of my Christmas shopping done on Black Friday. I wasn’t even planning on buying anything that day! We’re celebrating Christmas with my family this coming weekend, so I had to wrap all those gifts. But the others still need to be wrapped. I’ll just pop in a good ‘ol movie & wrap away; I actually enjoy it.
I still have to purchase most of my gifts (haven’t started wrapping what I do have)…but my list is complete! That’s half the battle, right?
Just finished up my salvation army donation angel’s-those kids have such simple wants -Christmas PJ’s. Trying not to give out all the gifts I’ve gotten for people, I can’t help it, I want them to have it now! Merry Christmas!
I started Christmas shopping so early – I told everyone that I was going to be done with it all by Thanksgiving and I was so proud! And then… there were just a few gifts that I couldn’t decide on… and I still haven’t decided on. So… I didn’t quite do what I said, but I’m getting there!
I just finished the semester and handed in grades, so I barely have any shopping done.
I have all my shopping done except for one gift. Its for my neice who is super hard to buy for. Wrapping.. havent even started!!

Shopping? What’s that? Just kidding… this year it’s all about online shopping. I have found some great deals online. We’re cutting back this year from now until forever on all the “stuff” and focusing on time spent with others (over food of course) instead. I think it’s a trend.
LOL, haven’t officially started yet, although I have been stocking up on deals for the last few months. Plan on putting gift baskets together for most people, rather than sticking money in cards last minutes like we did last year!
Well I have all my presents but not wrapped. That is this weekends project to wrap gifts. I have not gotten my mom anything yet, why are moms so hard to shop for?
I just got done shopping for xmas today. I’ll wrap up the gifts xmas eve and we didn’t put up a tree because my 18month old will attack it all day.
I’m about done, just waiting for a couple last gifts to come in the mail!
A lot of my family members decided to ease up on the gifts this year and just spend time together. ….. Making yummy food…. Food that would benefit from those amazing spices.
This might just be my favorite giveaway this season. Something practical yet beautiful! Thanks for the opportunity..
This giveaway sounds like pure bliss. I have all my shopping done except my brother. Many of my gifts are wrapped but I’d never dare put them beneath the tree. I have a very curious 21 month old and 4 year old. They wouldn’t make it 24 hours! We’ll have a Christmas eve “miracle” where the presents suddenly appear!
I am almost finished- just 1-2 more last minute gifts and they are going to be gift cards. I have not started wrapping anything- hopefully I will be able to put everything in bags- that would be sweet.

I’ve done all the shopping, most of the shipping, barely any wrapping of gifts with a toddler in the house, and absolutely not a single Christmas card’s been written. I better get crackin’.
I am in panic mode! i am not even a quarter done with my shopping
thank you so much for hosting this giveaway! chantellesabino(at)live(dot)com
Hope I’m not too late – I just saw your post from another blog. My hobby is cooking, and I love playing with new, fabulous spices and tools in my kitchen.
I’m 80% done with my shopping – just have the stocking stuffers to go and am desperate to find matching pajamas for my husband and son (holiday tradition that’s going to fall on its face this year).
Now the hard part – wrapping everything! Ack!
Homemade gifts are nearly done. Not doing much this year due to husband not working!
homemade gifts are almost done and some are distributed in my son’s school to all his friends. But i need to buy some more and am a little bit confused what to buy and what not to and for whom. Especially am wondering about my husband
I have a lot of shopping to do yet and wrapping for my own children but all the nieces and nephews and grandparents are taken care of and wrapped. I am kindof stuck with deciding what to get my kids, i want to get items they will appreciate and not just random toys.
